Author BONNIE LOUISE KUCHLER
BIOGRAPHY
Bonnie and her husband are the proud new owners of a gorgeous,
waterfront bed & breakfast on Washington's Olympic Peninsula (www.seacliffgardens.com). Bonnie has an independent, entrepreneurial spirit, which has led her into several successful business
ventures over the years, but she has always made time to write. Most of Bonnie's books offer engaging, full-color pictures, a
path that seems only natural because both of her parents carved out lifetime careers as professional photographers. Bonnie
was born and raised in Hawaii, where her family owned a landmark photography studio in Honolulu (Elizabeth & George Studio).
She also lived in Guam for several years, where her family established a second studio. Bonnie left Guam a month after Super
Typhoon Pamela devastated the island with wind gusts that peaked at 190 mph. A
lifetime ago, when her children were young, Bonnie passionately homeschooled them for nine years. Both are now college
graduates, living on their own. Her daughter, Jill Sikes—creative and compassionate—works with the developmentally
disabled. Her son, Nate Sikes—outdoorsy and mensa-level—is undergoing intensive training to become a combat
medic.
Now, along
with sharing their home with hundreds of strangers each year, Bonnie and Phillip also share their lives with three sleep-impaired
Jack Russell terriers—Nicky, Sugar and Ginger.
Bonnie’s hobbies
include reading, gardening, nature walks, and piano playing. She and her husband enjoy chasing tennis balls
(with or without the dogs), cruises, long talks in the hot tub, and being walked (or dragged) daily by their three pint-sized
fitness coaches.
